We are in the last two full weeks of classes before finals and students are busy and stressed as things wind down. Some ways we have seen God work this Spring:
We had a Good Friday outreach table where we gave away Rita’s frozen ice. We probably had about 75-100 students come by and we also had a tag board where students could write an answer to the question “Who is Jesus?” There were some very honest and interesting comments. Table outreaches have been a way to engage with the campus, bless people with free food or drink and tell people about our ministry and sometimes we get to share more about the Gospel. We have seen many of our RUF students grow in their ability to engage.
Students are connecting to the church: Two students and Chris’s intern have recently interviewed to join Wallace Presbyterian Church. Several other students have been involved helping serve in set up and music at a new PCA Church plant called Port Towns Church in Bladensburg just south of campus.
Students are speaking– Two weeks ago one of our female students gave a powerful testimony of God’s grace in her life and the power to change. A brand new student heard the testimony and was immediately touched and texted me to get together. Josh Lewis, a Junior who is desiring to pursue ministry, was able to preach at our Large Group on walking in love (Ephesians 5).
We are training Bible Study leaders- the past three weeks several students have been trained in Bible study skills and how to lead a small group discussion. Pray that students will grow in their skills and that they will step up to lead small groups next year!
Students are processing the Gospel – in particular, two newer students. We have been meeting and reading through some Bible passages and dealing with questions. Praise God for his drawing students to himself.
